Original leather binding with embossing. On the back of the title page appears a list of ”Selichot” instituted to be recited in the Frankfurt community due to events unique to this community: ”Ta’anit Sereifa” (Fast of the Fire) from the year 5471 (1711) (following this fire, the city’s rabbi, the holy Gaon Rabbi Naftali Katz, author of ”Semichat Chachamim, ” was forced to flee), and ”Ta’anit Vinz” in memory of the expulsion of the city’s Jews in 5374 (1614). On the flyleaf, the signature of Rabbi Shimon Fulda, and an additional signature (in a foreign language) of Rabbi Mendel Wertheim of Fulda. [1], 159 leaves. 20.5 cm. Condition: Good. Many signs of use, slight wear. Wax drippings. A few wormholes in the first two pages. Original leather binding, including the original marbled endpapers. The binding is slightly worn.
