”And Hashem Will Help Us Stand in the Breach, and We Shall Merit the Kingdom of Beis Peretz” – A Holy Letter from the Esteemed Gaon, the Minchas Elazar of Munkatch, Containing Strategies of War Against the Sinners A holy letter, entirely handwritten and signed by the Esteemed Gaon, Maran the Minchas Elazar of Munkatch, dated Wednesday, 4 Sivan 5691 (1931). The letter is addressed to the Esteemed Gaon, Rabbi Eliyahu Katz, Av Beis Din of Roslovitz, in which he urges him to immediately come and take refuge under his protection and to sit together with him in the Beis Din, so they may successfully thwart the schemes of the evildoers. Maran the Minchas Elazar concludes his letter with a poetic phrase relevant to the time of year: ”And Hashem will help us stand in the breach, and we shall merit speedily the kingdom of Beis Peretz...” – alluding to the Davidic monarchy, descending from Peretz, son of Yehudah.
