Addressed to the gaon R’ Yosef Karlbach of Altona, the Chafetz Chaim pleads for assistance to save the Yeshivah of Radin from its dire financial state. In the letter, the Chafetz Chaim describes how support from America had sharply declined, and he turns to the Jews of Medinas Ashkenaz to come to the aid of their brothers learning Torah in the Lita.
