Letter of the Heilige R’ Hersheleh of Razvadov ZT״L — With Brachos for Oisher and Kovod! A letter entirely in the ksav yad kodesh of the renowned tzaddik, Tzvi Hirsch Horowitz of Rozvadov, known to all as R’ Hersheleh of Razvadov ZT״L. Written to his relative, the philanthropist R’ Avrohom Frenkil, thanking him for the precious gift he had sent, and showering him with warm brachos: “Hashem Yisborach should gladden his heart with kol tuv; may his keren be uplifted with yeshuah and hatzlachah; with oisher and kovod together with his entire family; and he should be zocheh to see banim u’bnei banim oiskim baTorah u’mitzvos, mit a breiter harchovah.” The Rebbe R’ Hersheleh was the son of Moshe Horowitz of Rozvadov, grandson of Eliezer Horowitz of Dzikov, and an einikel through marriage of the yetev lev. After his father’s petirah in Sivan 1894, he took over the rabbonus in Razvadov, and thousands of chassidim became attached to him. In the summer months he would travel to spend Shabbos in cities across Galicia and Poland. From the time of World War I, he stopped accepting pidyonos, explaining that he did not wish to be nizun from the tzaros of Klal Yisroel. He was niftar on 10 Cheshvan 1918, and is buried in Razvadov in the ohel of his heilige father. His name became great in Klal Yisroel as a rebbe of the tzibbur and a po’el yeshuos b’kerev ha’aretz. He was the uncle of Maran Rabbeinu HaKadosh of Satmar ZYA”A, being the son-in-law of his brother , the Plantcher Ruv Z”L Recipient of the Letter R’ Avrohom Frenkil Z״L of Limanov — an einikel of the Naftali Zvi Horowitz of Ropshitz ZYA״A, and among the prominent chassidim of the Yechezkel Halberstam of Shinova ZT״L.
