Exceptionally Rare — A Mazel Tov Letter from the Heilige R’ Aryeh Leibush of Tarnow ZYA”A Son of HRH”K Mshinov ZY”A! A letter overflowing with warm brachos, entirely in the handwriting of  R’ Aryeh Leibush Halberstam of Tarnow, written on Thursday, Parshas Seitzei, 1910, to the chassidic philanthropist R’ Avraham Chaim Frenkil of Limanov, upon a joyous simchah in his home. With fatherly warmth, the Rebbe showers him with heartfelt blessings: “Ve’heneni levarcho b’Birchas Mazel Tov — may HaShem help that the zivug should rise beautifully, in a sha’ah tovah u’mutzlachas, and he should be zocheh to see from them banim u’vnei banim oskim baTorah u’maasim tovim, mitoch nachas u’revachah, u’mitoch oisher v’kovod.” At the margin of the letter, the Rebbe adds a personal note that he will be sending as a doron derashah a copy of his father’s sefer, the heilige Divrei Yechezkel. Letters from him are exceptionally rare — of the utmost scarcity! R’ Aryeh Leibush Halberstam of Tarnow (passed 1930) was a son of R’ Yechezkel of Shinova ZYA”A, and son-in-law of his great uncle, R’ Moshe of Shinova. After his father’s petirah, he led the Chassidei Sanz–Shinova in Tarnow, Galicia, where many chassidim, talmidei chachamim, and ovdei Hashem gathered around him. A strong emphasis there was placed on limud haTorah and dikduk halachah. The gaon of Nasod writes about him: “Arieh bar Arieh ila’ah kedishah… whatever emerged from his holy lips was poured with chein.” Recipient of the Letter R’ Avraham Frenkil of Limanov — grandson of the heilige Ropshitzer ZYA”A, and among the prominent chassidim of the Shinova Rebbe. A warm, living document of brachah from a scion of the Sanz–Shinova dynasty, written in his own hand at a moment of simchah.
