A Revelation Regarding the Segulah of Me’aras Eliyahu HaNavi! Instruction of the Rebbe — “Der Frankfurter” of Stolin ZY”A — Berachos for Refuah and Nachas! A letter from the Rebbe R’ Yisroel Perlow of Stolin ZY”A, known as “Der Frankfurter, ” to the chassid R’ Asher HaLevi, in which he advises him to travel with his grandson to Me’aras Eliyahu HaNavi as a segulah for refuah. He writes: “…Regarding your request whether to travel with your grandson Avraham Yaakov sheyichyeh , to Me’aras Eliyahu HaNavi zachor la’tov — I agree to this. And Hashem Yisborach shall help that this endeavor be for him a refuah sheleimah. And my berachah shall effect that all be helped with refuah sheleimah, and that they merit to see much nachas from all their יוצאי חלציהם sheyichyu l’orech yamim tovim, and that Hashem fulfill all the wishes of their hearts for the good, and renew upon them a shanah tovah u’mevoraches…” A Little-Known Source for a Well-Known Segulah Among the yishuv of Eretz HaKodesh it has long been accepted that sleeping in Me’aras Eliyahu HaNavi is a proven segulah for refuah. The cave traditionally identified with Eliyahu HaNavi is located on the northwestern slope of Har HaCarmel to this day. Some were even careful to sleep there on Shabbos Kodesh (see Tal Yerushalayim by R’ Yehudah Leib Hornstein, p. 45). However, a clear early source for this segulah has not been widely known. Before us is a striking testimony that the Rebbe of Stolin himself regarded this segulah as effective and worthy of recommendation for refuah!
