R’ Shmuel Tzvi Horowitz (niftar 27 Av 1997) affectionately known as R’ Hershele Spinker. served as the Spinka Rebbe and authored the seforim Malbush Tzvi, Tiferes Tzvi, Toldos Tzvi, and others. He was the son of R’ Avraham Avish Horowitz of Krali, son-in-law of the Chakal Yitzchok of Spinka. After the war he settled in Williamsburg, where he lived for many years. R’ Hershele was widely known as a po’el yeshuos and as an ohev Yisroel in the truest sense — sharing deeply in the tzaros of Yidden and rejoicing in their simchos. Many turned to him for brachah and yeshuah and saw remarkable outcomes.
