Segulah and Shemirah! — Divrei Emes of the Rebbe of Lublin First Edition, Zolkiew 1830 — The Very First Sefer Ever Printed from the Chozeh! Segulah and Shemirah! A brachah printed in the sefer itself! At the very beginning stands the haskamah of the heilige Rabbi Avraham Yehoshua Heshel — the Ohev Yisrael of Apta. And he writes clearly about those who buy this sefer: “…Acquire it with full payment… my blessing shall rest upon their heads; the zechus of the author will protect them from every machalah and every affliction, and Hashem will command the brachah upon them…” Then, in the hakdamah, the Chozeh’s own grandson repeats the same idea: “…Do not be concerned for the cost — bring this sefer into your home, so that brachah should dwell in your house, and the zechus of the holy author should remove illness and affliction from among you…” This sefer was sold with a segulah printed inside it! The Year on the Title Page is Not the Year The title page says 1808. It is not true. Because of the censor, they hid the real year. The true printing is 1830.
