Imrei Shefer – First Edition – Munkacs, 1888 – Copy of a Great-Grandson of the Yetev Lev First edition of Imrei Shefer by Hagaon HaKadosh Rabbi Shmuel Frankel of Dorog , published by his son Rabbi Meir Frankel and his son-in-law Rabbi Zev Wolf Citron , Munkacs, 1888. Besides the Torah of Rabbi Shmuel of Dorog , the sefer includes Torah from his father Rabbi Shraga Feivel , twelve hanhogos from his ksav yad, his halachic correspondence with the Divrei Chaim of Sanz , and his famous essay calling upon Yidden to affiliate with the Orthodox kehillos and opposing the proposed central communal organization. The lengthy list of subscribers includes many gedolim and tzaddikim of Hungary, among them Rabbi Yeshaya'le of Kerestir , the Imrei Yosef of Spinka , Rabbi Michel of Zsirk , and many others. • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • From the Library of a Great-Grandson of the Yetev Lev On the title page appears a lengthy ownership inscription in the handwriting of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Teitelbaum , son of Rabbi Chaim of Tetch , grandson of Rabbi Eliyahu Betzalel of Tetch , and great-grandson of the Yetev Lev . Hagaon HaKadosh Rabbi Shmuel of Dorog was among the foremost talmidim of the Divrei Chaim of Sanz , who personally appointed him Rav of Dorog. Renowned as a baal mofes, he would often bless people with the words: ”Shmuel ben Gitel, b'kocho shel Rabbi Chaim MiSanz, mevarech...” The Yetev Lev held him in extraordinary esteem, even proposing that he decide a dispute between leading rabbanim. The text of his matzeivah was composed by the Yetev Lev himself. It is likewise related that Rabbi Yeshaya'le of Kerestir would visit his tzion each year together with his chassidim and conduct a L'chaim Tisch . A fine provenance copy bearing the ownership inscription of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Teitelbaum, great-grandson of the Yetev Lev.
