The Satmar Rebbe ZYA”A - Brochos of Shefa Brochoh and Hatzlochoh for the Supporters of the Gur Yeshivah in Eretz Yisroel Letter of recommendation from the Satmar Rebbe ZYA”A on behalf of the Chiddushei HaRim Yeshivah of Gur in Tel Aviv, together with heartfelt brochos for all those who would assist in the building and support of the yeshivah. Addressed to the gaon Rabbi Gedalyah Hertz z”l, Rosh Yeshivah of the Gur yeshivah in Haifa, who had come to the United States on behalf of the institution. Written on Wednesday of Parshas Vayechi, 1967 (”l'seder Veyidgu LaRov B'kerev Ha'aretz ”). The letter concludes with the Rebbe's brochoh and holy signature: ”May the merit of supporting Torah and its students stand by all those who assist and lend their support, that they be blessed with abundant brochoh and hatzlochoh, and with every good blessing.” This holy letter stands as a remarkable testimony to the Rebbe's unwavering dedication to Torah, as he readily extended his support to Torah institutions and yeshivos even beyond the ranks of his own chassidim and those who followed his path. Rabbi Gedalyah Hertz z”l (1914–1978) studied at Yeshivas Tomchei Temimim Lubavitch and was a talmid of the gaon hakadosh Rabbi Shimon of Zelichov and received semichah from the gaon Rabbi Menachem Ziemba zt”l. He taught Torah to generations of talmidim and served as Rosh Yeshivah of Yeshivas Chiddushei HaRim of Gur in Tel Aviv.
