I have delivered your request into the hands of my holy father, may he live long, and in accordance with his holy brachah, may Hashem help that you should merit to raise him for every good purpose, with long life and good years, and every kind of nachas... More I cannot add, only life and peace... ” Signed: ” HaKatan Aharon ben HaRav shlita of Belz. ” • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • • Mentioned Years Later by Reb Aharon Himself This very letter was mentioned many years later before Reb Aharon of Belz by Reb Yisrael Yakar Bigelayzen upon his first visit to Eretz Yisroel. He related that the Sanzer Rebbe had shown him this letter, and also told him that during a serious illness he had merited to see the Maharid of Belz in a dream and asked him to daven on his behalf. Upon hearing this, Reb Aharon responded: ” איך קען איהם זעהר גוט .” ( Or HaTzafon , no. 133, p. 92). A truly exceptional Belz treasure—an entirely autograph letter written in Belz during the lifetime of the Maharid, conveying both the brachah of Reb Aharon and the personal brachah of his holy father for long life, good years, and abundant nachas.
