A Warm Letter of Blessing from Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky to His Beloved Talmid – Galanta, 1906 Beautiful letter of blessing from Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky , later Rav of Yerushalayim and leader of the Eidah HaChareidis, written during his years as Rav of Galanta , to his devoted talmid Rabbi Shimon Blumenthal . Written in 1906 . Rabbi Shimon Blumenthal was among the distinguished residents of Yerushalayim and later published the classic Kamarna sefer Notzer Chesed in Jerusalem in 1912. The letter concludes with warm expressions of affection and heartfelt brachos from rebbi to talmid: ”...And even now, my humble blessing shall never be lacking: Re'eh chaim, shalom u'verachah, together with help from Heaven... And I remain with abundant blessings, wishing you a kesivah va'chasimah tovah, your faithful rebbi...” Rabbi Yosef Tzvi Dushinsky (1867–1949), one of the foremost gedolim of Hungary and later Rav of Yerushalayim, was a distinguished talmid of the Shevet Sofer and other leading rabbanim. In 1890, he became the son-in-law of the renowned Levushei Mordechai , Rav of Mad, and the following year was appointed Rav of Galanta , where he established a large yeshivah. In 1921, he was appointed Rav of Chust and transferred his yeshivah there, where it became one of the largest in Hungary. Following the petirah of Rabbi Yosef Chaim Sonnenfeld , he was chosen to succeed him in the rabbinate and leadership of the Eidah HaChareidis in Yerushalayim. In Yerushalayim, together with several of his talmidim from Hungary, he founded Yeshivas Beis Yosef Tzvi , whose talmidim later formed the foundation of the renowned Dushinsky Chassidus.
