Written during his years as Rav of Piotrków , while traveling extensively to raise funds for the establishment of what would become the world-renowned Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin . Dated 1924 (according to the postmark). In this warm personal letter, Rabbi Meir asks his wife to keep him informed of several important matters relating to his travels, offering a rare glimpse into the private correspondence of one of the outstanding Torah leaders of prewar Poland during the years he devoted himself to building his historic yeshivah. Rabbi Yehudah Meir Shapiro (1887–1933), founder and Rosh Yeshivah of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin , was one of the outstanding Torah leaders of prewar Europe. Through his celebrated yeshivah and his many initiatives on behalf of Torah, he left an enduring mark on the Torah world. Among his distinguished talmidim was Rabbi Shmuel Wosner, author of Shevet HaLevi. His published works include Or HaMeir and Imrei Daas.
