”A True Work on the Truth of the Torah” – The Shelah's Stirring Endorsement – Sefer Ha'Ikkarim with Etz Shasul – First Edition – Venice, 1618 – Complete with the Extremely Rare Final Leaves Sefer Ha'Ikkarim , the classic work on the ikrei emunah by Rav Yosef Albo, with the commentary Etz Shasul by Rav Gedalyah ben Shlomo Lipschitz , a distinguished talmid of the Maharam Lublin . Printed by the Bragadini press, Venice, 1618. First edition of the commentary. Composed in the aftermath of the horrific persecutions and forced conversions that swept Spain in 1391, Sefer Ha'Ikkarim was written to strengthen the fundamental principles of emunah and reinforce unwavering faith in the Torah. The sefer bears the haskamos of the leading Gedolei Yisroel of the generation, including the Maharsha, the Maharam  Lublin (the author's rebbi), the Shelah HaKadosh, and the Kli Yakar. Particularly noteworthy is the Shelah HaKadosh's extraordinary endorsement, in which he describes the work as: ”A true work on the truth of the Torah and its fundamental principles.” Early ownership inscriptions appear on the title page, including that of Rav Yosef Yuzpa Segal of Fürth, one of the prominent German rabbanim of the early eighteenth century, author of Emek HaShaveh on Emek Yehoshua , and publisher of the Alshich's Mar'os HaTzov'os . Complete with the extremely rare final two leaves. Most surviving copies conclude with leaf 144. The present copy retains the additional leaves 145–146, containing supplementary material by the commentator, Rav Gedalyah Lipschitz. ”...Sefer Ha'Ikkarim with Etz Shatul as printed in Venice in the year 1618 [the present edition].
