The Torah of Rabbi Bunim of Peshischa, Together with His Famous ”Igeres Rosh Hashanah ” – Kol Simchah – First Edition – Warsaw, 1859 Kol Simchah, containing the Torah teachings of the Rabbi Simchah Bunim of Peshischa , recorded by his talmidim and published by his grandchildren. First edition . Warsaw, 1859. The first edition of one of the foundational sefarim of Polish Chassidus, preserving the Torah of one of its foremost builders and leaders. The sefer was apparently written by Rabbi Alexander Zusha , Av Beis Din of Plock. Although the title page states Breslau, it appears to have been printed in Warsaw, as noted by the Sho'el U'Meishiv , who writes: ”...I saw the sefer newly printed in Warsaw, entitled Kol Simchah...” Following the title page are the approbations of the Chiddushei HaRim and Rabbi Yeshayah Muskat of Praga. Printed at the end of the sefer is the famous ” Igeres Rosh Hashanah” , which Rabbi Bunim sent to his chassidim and which continues to be studied with reverence by chassidim and anshei ma'aseh to this very day. Joining the letter are the signatures of his foremost talmidim, including Rabbi Yitzchak of Vurka , Rabbi Menachem Mendel the Saraf of Kotzk, and others. The letter concludes with a moving note penned by Rabbi Bunim's son, Rabbi Avraham Moshe of Peshischa : ”I ask of him that he safeguard this letter and bring it with him, iy”H, when he travels here, and then the two of us shall study it together carefully.”
