Maayan HaChochmah – First Edition – Koretz, 1817 – Signature of an Ancestor of the Lelover Dynasty First edition of Maayan HaChochmah , a foundational sefer of Chassidus and Kabbalah on Chumash, the Chamesh Megillos, Tehillim, Pirkei Avos and more, by the holy gaon Rabbi Asher Tzvi of Ostroh and Koretz , a foremost talmid of the Maggid of Mezritch, printed in Koretz, 1817. Rabbi Asher Tzvi was among the leading tzaddikim of his generation and is known for his haskamos to many of the earliest sifrei Chassidus, including Me'or Einayim, Or HaMeir, Rav Yeiva and Maggid Devarav L'Yaakov. In his haskamah to this sefer, the holy Ohev Yisrael of Apta writes: “I am certain that all who study his holy words ימצא מרגוע לנפשו.” On the title page appears the partially erased signature: ”...Noach Pinchas HaLevi Ish Horowitz...”. This is apparently the signature of Rabbi Noach Pinchas HaLevi Horowitz, father-in-law of Rabbi Dovid Tzvi Shlomo of Lelov zt”l (Reb Dovid'l), making him an ancestor of many of the Lelover Rebbes and descendants of the Lelover dynasty in our generation. Rabbi Noach Pinchas descended from an illustrious lineage of gedolei haChassidus, being a descendant of Rabbi Shmuel Shmelke of Nikolsburg and the family of the Hafla'ah .
