Chassidus First Edition – Noam Megadim – Lemberg, 1807 – Subscribers Include the Greatest Tzaddikim of the Generation! First edition of Noam Megadim and Kavod HaTorah, derashos in mussar and Chassidus on the weekly parshiyos, by Hagaon HaKadosh Rabbi Eliezer HaLevi Horowitz, Rav of Tarnigrad. Printed by Aharon ben Chaim David Segal, Lemberg, 1807. The sefer is adorned with the haskamos of the leading tzaddikim of the generation, including the Maggid of Kozhnitz, the Chozeh of Lublin, the Maggid of Zlotchov, the Ohev Yisrael of Apta, and the Yismach Moshe. In his haskamah, the Chozeh of Lublin writes that he generally refrained from giving approbations to seforim, but made an exception in honor of the mechaber: ”... הנה ידוע שדרכי תמיד לטמון מליתן שום הסכמה על ספר... אך אדעתא דגברא רבה ויקירא וקדישא לא נדרתי, כי ידעתי גם ידעתי בעל הכתבים ...” Hagaon HaKadosh Rabbi Eliezer HaLevi Horowitz, author of Noam Megadim, was among the foremost tzaddikim of his generation, renowned alike for his greatness in nigleh and Chassidus. He was a talmid of the Maggid of Zlotchov and Reb Elimelech of Lizhensk, and served as Rav of Tarnigrad. He also authored the foundational Chassidish sefer Amaros Tehoros on Tehillim (also offered in this auction).
