Teshuvos HaRadach – Constantinople, 1537–1538 – First Edition First edition of Teshuvos HaRadach, the celebrated responsa of Rabbi Dovid ben Chaim HaKohen of Corfu (the Radach) , printed by Eliezer ben Gershom Soncino , Constantinople, 1537–1538. The sefer was prepared for publication by the author's son-in-law and talmid, Rabbi Dovid Vital , author of Kesser Torah (Constantinople, 1536), who edited and arranged the teshuvos for print. Of particular interest is the remarkable statement printed on the title page concerning the manuscript from which the sefer was printed: ”...the sefer was saved, for although the great fire consumed its surroundings and burned two rulings, the fire did not pass through the remainder...” An important early Soncino imprint and the first appearance of one of the classic responsa works of the Sephardic gedolim.
