A Complete Autograph Leaf of the Bnei Yissaschar! – Sixty-Two Lines Printed in Rei'ach Duda'im  A complete autograph manuscript leaf, written entirely in the handwriting of the Bnei Yissaschar, Rav Tzvi Elimelech of Dinov זי”ע (”Der Rebbe Reb Hersh Elimelech fun Dinov”), filled on both sides from top to bottom with sixty-two lines of profound chiddushim on Maseches Megillah (18b–21a). These very chiddushim were later published in his sefer Rei'ach Duda'im, first printed in 1879 by his grandson Rav Meir Meshulam Shapiro zt”l. The title of the sefer itself was bestowed by the Divrei Chaim of Sanz, as recorded in his haskamah. The manuscript is a treasury of penetrating analyses on the Gemara, Rashi, and Tosafos, filled with kushyos, terutzim, precise textual observations, and brilliant explanations. Throughout, the Bnei Yissaschar's unique approach shines forth, seamlessly weaving together nigleh and Chassidus. When Does Hashem Perform Open Miracles? Among the remarkable passages on this leaf is the Bnei Yissaschar's profound explanation of why, at times, Hashem saves Klal Yisroel through open miracles, while at other times His salvation is concealed. In his own words: ”...Why did the Holy One, blessed be He, so arrange it, that at certain times He performs salvations for His people Yisroel through open miracles, while at other times through hidden miracles...” He explains that miracles result from the revelation of a higher Heavenly light. When a generation is not worthy of receiving such a revelation, Hashem conceals that light and conducts the world through hidden miracles, until the time when ”the glory of Hashem shall be revealed” to all. In his haskamah to Rei'ach Duda'im , the Divrei Chaim of Sanz writes of these teachings: ”...The earth is filled with the produce of his wisdom and Torah, shining from one end of the world to the other. Many have drunk, and many yet will drink with thirst from his holy words, flowing from a living spring...” A Treasury of Torah The manuscript before us is a rich treasury of chiddushim spanning every facet of Torah. Peshat : More than ten original explanations illuminating the Gemara, Rashi, and Tosafos. Klalei HaShas: A remarkable discussion of the expression ”Maskif Lah, ” analyzing whether it always introduces a challenge or may at times support the preceding argument. Halachah: An original ruling explaining why the berachah after Megillah should be recited even when traveling between places with differing minhagim, ”so that one should not appear to disregard the publicizing of the miracle.” Chassidus: A profound exposition on open and hidden miracles, explaining that everything depends upon the recipient's capacity to receive the Divine light. When a generation cannot bear its full intensity, ”Hashem conceals it, lest the created beings be overwhelmed by the abundance of goodness and illumination... This itself is the greatest kindness of the One Who is good and does good, until the time comes when we will all be prepared for prophecy, and then 'the glory of Hashem shall be revealed.'”
