Hari Van Hoeffen 'Radio Religion ...Sterile Egg!' O/C - A Hari Van Hoeffen (American, 1905-1985) oil on canvas painting titled ‘Radio Religion and the Sterile Egg!' depicting what appears to be a crowd of people looking at an abstract object. Signed and dated '1980' lower right and on verso. Hari Van Hoefen was a renowned architect, engineer, and artist based in St. Louis during the mid-20th century. He’s most known for his architectural designs and was a recipient of the American Institute of Architects Award in 1953 and 1957. His artwork was heavily influenced by his design experience, which included traditional, abstract, and art deco styles along with mixed media that fused paint, wood, plaster, and metal. Several of his pieces incorporate old, arcane medical instruments, which he welded into new shapes and characters. It’s not clear whether Van Hoefen was recognized for his fine art during his lifetime, as most of his pieces were kept in the family. He passed away in 1985 and passed down through descent to his grandson, who currently resides in Atlanta. PICK UP The FINAL day to collect items or have them shipped is June 10th. NO exceptions.
