The sign is constructed from painted metal, likely steel or tin, with a glass thermometer tube mounted centrally. The design features a blue field with yellow and white text. The top header displays the circular logo for Chew Mail Pouch Tobacco. The temperature scale is marked from -30 to 130 degrees Fahrenheit. A small numeral 49 is printed next to the 130 degree mark, corresponding to the year of manufacture.
