19th Century Ottoman Style Bell-Shaped Tinned Copper Water Jug with Hinged Lid - This antique 19th-century water jug or ewer is designed in a traditional Ottoman style with a flared bell-shaped base. The vessel is constructed from hand-hammered copper with a visible martel? texture throughout. Remnants of a functional tin plating are present on both the exterior and interior surfaces. The body tapers to a cylindrical neck with a flared rim and integrated pouring spout. A domed lid is secured to the handle assembly with a hinge and features a cast thumb-piece and loop finial. The cast metal S-scroll handle is secured to the body using rivets. No maker marks, hallmarks, or inscriptions are visible on the interior or exterior of the piece.
