Brass Serpent Pattern Car Horn in the Style of Early Twentieth Century Automotive Accessories - Abrass car horn fashioned in the form of a stylized serpent or dragon. The object features a long, tapered cylindrical shaft constructed of brass with visible soldered seams. The terminal bell is shaped as a beast head with an open mouth, cast teeth, and stylized facial features. Affixed to the center of the shaft is a threaded lug or mounting nut, consistent with fittings used for attachment to avehicle. This form is characteristic of novelty automotive horns produced during the early twentieth century. There are no maker marks or patent numbers visible on the exterior surfaces. An auction lot tag numbered 62 with a barcode is attached to the shaft.
