Antique Western Electric Magneto Ringer Box and Desk Set Telephone - This lot features a two-part antique telephone system manufactured by the Western Electric Company. The system consists of a wall-mounted magneto ringer box and a matching cradle-style desk handset. The rectangular cabinet is constructed of dark-stained wood and features two black metal ringer gongs at the top and a signaling hand-crank on the right side. A gold-toned manufacturer decal on the front identifies the maker as Western Electric COMPANY. The desk set includes a black-finished circular metal base with a four-prong cradle and a center blanking plate, indicating the unit was designed for use on a manual, operator-assisted exchange system. The handset is composed of black Bakelite and remains connected to the ringer box by a brown fabric-covered cord.
