Antique American Industrial Platform Dial Scale 100 Pound Capacity - This antique industrial platform dial scale is attributed to John Chatillon and Sons of New York, featuring a heavy-duty construction with a cast iron frame and a double-tier platform design supported by four solid upright rods. The weighing mechanism is connected via a lever system to a large circular dial face protected by a glass cover within a metal bezel. The dial displays weights from 0 to 100 pounds in 2 pound increments, with larger numerals every 10 pounds. The dial is marked Capacity 100 Lbs. at the top center. Above the pivot point, a maker mark in cursive script concludes with the legible characters & Sons, Makers, and New York, U.S.A. A circular regulatory seal below the pivot is inscribed with Approved Type and New York City and Penna around the perimeter, with a central cross containing the characters 33, Serial, and H, and Trade Mark Registered at the bottom. The entire unit is mounted on a thick, weathered rectangular wooden block base. The reverse of the dial housing features the hand-painted number 4050 in yellow and white pigment. Capacity: 100 lbs.
