Lane Brothers Swift Mill Double-Wheel Iron Grinder - 9.5 x 18. This is an antique tabletop coffee mill manufactured by Lane Brothers of Poughkeepsie, New York, known as The Swift Mill. The unit is constructed primarily of cast iron and features two large vertical side wheels with a distinctive ornate starburst or webbed spoke pattern. The outer rims of both wheels feature raised, cast-in lettering that reads LANE BROTHERS, POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. across the top and THE SWIFT MILL across the bottom. The mill consists of a top-mounted hopper with a fitted lid and spherical finial, a central grinding housing, and a rectangular pedestal base. A turned wooden handle is attached to the right-side wheel for manual operation. A small metal collection drawer with a pull tab is located at the front of the base. The body, hopper lid, and base have been refinished in a light blue-grey paint, while the wheels retain a dark, oxidized iron finish.
