Brass Coal Scuttles w/ Delft & Ceramic Salt Box - This lot consists of a pair of brass fireside coal scuttles and a wall-hanging ceramic salt box. The scuttles are designed in a traditional helmet form, constructed from sheet brass with flared pedestal bases. Each vessel features a dual handle configuration consisting of a primary overhead bail handle and a secondary tilting handle at the rear. The handles are fitted with white ceramic grips featuring a blue floral transfer pattern in the Delft style. The bail handles are secured to the body with cast brass mounts in the form of lion masks. The third item is a semi-cylindrical ceramic salt cellar with a shield-shaped backplate and a single hanging hole. The body is decorated with a repeating stenciled border of blue birds and green foliage above the word SALT in black sans-serif lettering. It is equipped with a hinged wooden lid. No maker marks are visible on the items, although a small sticker with the number 58 is present on the interior of the salt box.
