Griswold No. 3 & Erie No. 8 Cast Iron Skillets - This lot features two graduated vintage American cast iron skillets manufactured in Erie, Pennsylvania. The smaller skillet is a No. 3 Griswold model, identifiable by the Griswold small logo on the base. The markings include NO. 3 at the top, the circular cross logo in the center, ERIE PA. below, and the pattern number 709 at the bottom. The handle is marked with the numeral 3. This model was produced by the Griswold Manufacturing Company between the late 1930s and the 1950s. The larger skillet is a No. 8 ERIE brand pan, produced by the same manufacturer during an earlier period, roughly between 1880 and 1905. The base is embossed with an arched ERIE at the top and the numeral 8 with a letter B at the bottom. Both pans are constructed from cast iron with a smooth interior finish and integrated pour spouts.
