Set Painted Wood Folk Art Canning Jar Blocks - A set of eight decorative country primitive folk art wooden blocks, each hand-carved and fashioned in the shape of a canning jar. The solid wood blocks feature a medium-toned stain and are hand-painted with various food-related and farm motifs. The designs include a white hen wearing a blue bow, peaches, strawberries with blossoms, pears, an apple, sweet pea pods, a stalk of celery, and oranges. Each block is topped with a metal canning jar ring and a lid featuring the embossed Ball logo. Several jars are accented with decorative fabric covers or bows in plaid, floral, and polka-dot patterns. The base of the blocks shows an incised cross-shaped mark with a central indentation from the manufacturing process. Each piece is hand-signed by the artist in the lower front corner with the name BUILDT. The blocks vary in size, ranging from approximately 5 inches to 9 inches in height.
