Lionel O Gauge W.&A.R.R. The General 4-4-0 w/ Case - This is a Lionel O gauge model of the historic Western & Atlantic Railroad steam locomotive No. 3, known as The General. The locomotive and tender are presented as a commemorative display piece. The locomotive features a die-cast metal boiler finished in black with gold-toned domes, bell, and handrails. The cab is constructed of red plastic with yellow trim and No. 3 numbering. The driving wheels, leading truck wheels, and pilot are painted red. The tender is black with yellow W. & A. R. R. lettering and contains a molded brown plastic wood load. The set is mounted on a section of three-rail O gauge track with wooden ties, which is secured to a stepped, oak-finish wooden base. A clear acrylic dust cover protects the assembly. A silver-toned metal plaque on the front of the base is inscribed THE GENERAL by LIONEL. While designed as a functional electric model for AC-powered O gauge systems, it is presented here as a static display.
