Pair Artisan Copper & Brass Mechanical Trains - A pair of vintage handcrafted metal mechanical displays featuring train motifs, designed in the style of mid-twentieth-century copper musical novelties. The primary assembly consists of a circular metal track mounted on a central cylindrical base containing a mechanical motor housing. A train comprising a steam-style locomotive, a hopper car, and two passenger coaches is attached to the track. The display includes a hammered metal scenery element representing a mountain and a central upright handle loop. The second item is a separate, smaller locomotive model of simplified construction. Both pieces are fabricated from sheet copper and brass-toned tin using soldering and bending techniques. The metal surfaces exhibit a variegated heat-treated patina. No manufacturer marks or signatures are present on either piece. Attached white string tags are present with no legible text.
