Vtg Monarch Finer Foods Embossed Glass Pantry Jar - This vintage glass storage jar was manufactured for Monarch Finer Foods, a prominent brand of the Reid, Murdoch and Company firm based in Chicago. The jar is made of clear glass and features a square-bodied design with rounded corners. The front panel is embossed with the brand's signature lion's head logo in the center, with the text MONARCH arched above and FINER FOODS below. Each side of the jar is decorated with four tiers of embossed chevron ribbing. It retains its original screw-top metal lid with a knurled edge. The base of the jar has a stippled texture and features embossed marks including the Owens-Illinois Glass Company trademark (a diamond enclosing an oval and a capital letter I). Additional numbers on the base include a 7 to the left, a 5 to the right, and a 10 below the logo, which are plant and date codes likely indicating production between the mid-1930s and mid-1940s.
