Pair Blue & White Basketweave Stoneware Canisters - A pair of lidded utility stoneware canisters featuring a molded basketweave texture and relief floral motifs. Each vessel is decorated with hand-applied cobalt blue slip lettering identifying the contents as Salt and Tea. The glaze is a two-tone blue and cream-colored slip, typical of American utility stoneware from the late 19th or early 20th century. The canisters are cylindrical with a slightly flared rim and include matching lids topped with simple circular knobs. The reverse side of each jar displays a relief design of flowers and leaves. No factory marks, stamps, or signatures are visible on the exterior, interior, or underside of either piece.
