Coiled Vegetal Fiber Lidded Geometric Basket - A round lidded basket constructed from natural vegetal fibers, such as split cedar bark and dyed grasses, utilizing a tight coiled weaving technique. The exterior of the base and the lid are decorated with a rhythmic geometric pattern of alternating light and dark brown vertical blocks. The conforming lid is slightly domed and features a small central braided fiber loop handle. The interior of the base contains a yellow adhesive tag with the handwritten number 75 in black ink. The construction methods and decorative style are consistent with the indigenous basketry traditions of the Pacific Northwest or Plateau regions of North America.
