An Assortment of Edwardian Era French Ivory and Pearloid Celluloid Vanity Items and Picture Frames - A collection of early 20th-century vanity and decorative objects crafted from grained and pearlescent celluloid, materials often referred to as French Ivory or Ivoride. This group consists of multiple easel-back picture frames, a hand mirror, and a rectangular vanity tray. One frame with a pointed-arch top features a stamped maker mark on the reverse for TUBULOR, consisting of the name within a diamond-shaped border. The hand mirror is set with an oval beveled glass plate and is decorated on the reverse with a large engraved Gothic-style monogram B. The frames contain original period photographs including a woman in a large feathered hat with an infant, a woman in Edwardian-era dress, and a child with a teddy bear. The vanity tray is designed with scalloped ends and amber-toned mottling along the edges. The construction utilizes molded celluloid with linear graining intended to simulate the appearance of natural ivory.
