Firestone Model 4-A-83 AM Clock Radio w/ Telechron - This vintage tabletop AM clock radio was manufactured for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co. and features an integrated Telechron electric clock movement. The model is identified on the original rear label as Stock No. 4-A-83 with Code No. 651-0-935. The unit is housed in a cream-colored molded plastic cabinet characterized by horizontal-slotted speaker grilles. The front interface is designed with a symmetrical dual-dial layout. The left circular dial contains the analog clock face marked Telechron Movement and Lullaby Switch, featuring auxiliary controls for Auto/Off/On radio functions and a pull/push alarm setting. The right circular dial is the radio tuner, marked Firestone at the base and calibrated for AM frequencies from 55 to 160. A small central knob at the bottom edge serves as the volume and power control. The rear of the unit is enclosed by a perforated fiberboard panel which includes a tube placement diagram for a five-tube complement: 35W4, 12BE6, 12BA6, 12AT6, and 50C5. The original brown two-prong power cord and an orange Underwriters Laboratories UL service sticker are present.
