A Trio of Antique Charles Twelvetrees Baseball-Themed C.W. Brand Advertising Hand Fans - A trio of antique cardboard advertising hand fans dating to the early 20th century, approximately 1915 to 1925. The front of each fan features a color lithograph illustration of children in baseball-themed scenarios by the artist Charles Twelvetrees. One fan is titled A TWO BAGGER and depicts children walking, including a boy in a baseball uniform with the letters B B and a girl carrying a baseball. Another fan is titled A DOUBLE PLAY and shows a boy in a uniform kissing a girl while a second girl looks on, with a baseball bat illustrated below the title. The illustrations are marked at the base with copyright information for Wolf and Co., Philadelphia and C. Twelvetrees. The reverse side of the fans serves as an advertisement for C.W. Brand products from The Widlar Co., based in Cleveland, Ohio. The advertisements feature C.W. Brand Coffee, described as The Perfect Coffee in the Perfect Package, alongside an illustration of a coffee tin. The right side of the reverse advertises C.W. Mayonnaise Salad Dressing with a product bottle illustration and a recipe instruction to make Thousand Island dressing by adding one-third chili sauce. The fans are constructed of heavy cardstock attached to flat wooden stick handles with metal staples.
