Vittoria Mazzotti Albisola Blue and White Majolica Landscape Floor Vase - This large earthenware floor vase or umbrella stand is a piece of hand-painted majolica from Albisola, Italy, produced by the Vittoria Mazzotti workshop. The vessel features a tapered cylindrical form with a slightly flared rim and foot. The decoration is executed in a monochromatic blue-and-white palette characteristic of the Antico Savona style. One side displays a detailed coastal or lakeside landscape including a central tower with a flag, a cluster of buildings, a small arched bridge, and stylized water. The reverse side is decorated with a large, expressive, stylized tree. The composition includes painterly clouds and birds in flight. A wide band of scrolled floral and foliate motifs encircles the lower portion of the vase. The underside is hand-marked in blue with V. MAZZOTTI ALBISOLA. A cursive artist signature C. Beruti is present on the body of the vase within the landscape scene.
