Gerold-Porzellan Bavaria Landscape Porc. Ewer - 13 in tall This is a porcelain decorative ewer produced by Gerold-Porzellan in Tettau, Bavaria. The object features a pedestal-footed bulbous body transitioning into a narrow, flared neck with a heart-shaped spout and a large, ornate gilded scroll handle. The body is finished in a dark hunter-green glaze with two scalloped white reserves on opposite sides. Each reserve contains a hand-painted scene: one side depicts a large twin-towered cathedral with red roofing and blue accents, while the reverse side shows a village scene featuring a stone arched bridge over a waterway with several buildings and a distant spire. The handle is heavily finished in bright gold gilding. The underside of the base features a blue underglaze mark with a heraldic crest in the center, curved text above reading GEROLD-PORZELLAN, and text below reading Bavaria and MADE IN W.-GERMANY.
