Gerold Porzellan Hand-Painted Porc. Pedestal Ewer - 13 in tall This pedestal-based decorative ewer was manufactured by Gerold Porzellan in Bavaria, West Germany. The porcelain vessel features a bulbous body, a slender neck flaring into a shaped spout, and a high-arched scrolling handle. It is finished with a deep forest green glaze that surrounds two scalloped circular vignettes. One scene depicts a riverside village with a stone bridge and a church spire, while the other shows a multi-towered cathedral or abbey. The scenes are hand-painted in a soft, tonal palette. The handle and rim are accented with heavy gilding. The underside bears an underglaze blue backstamp with a crowned coat-of-arms crest, the words GEROLD-PORZELLAN and Bavaria, and the designation MADE IN W.-GERMANY.
