Pair GE 40-Channel Handheld CB Transceivers 3-5979 - A pair of General Electric (GE) model 3-5979 handheld Citizens Band (CB) transceivers. Each unit is constructed from dark grey and black textured plastic. The front panels feature a rotary channel selector dial numbered 1 through 39 (with intermediate dots for even numbers), a red-tinted digital LED channel display window, and a yellow button labeled Channel Display / Battery Check. Below the display is a three-position slide switch for HI - MID - LO power settings and a four-slotted grille labeled MIC for the integrated internal microphone. The top of each unit features two rotary knobs for power/volume and squelch control. A large black push-to-talk (PTT) button is located on the left side of the housing. Each transceiver is equipped with a retractable, telescopic metal antenna featuring a black and silver decorative sleeve marked with 40, SEARCH, and a GE monogram logo followed by the word sentry. The right side of each unit includes two jacks labeled ANTENNA and 12V DC. The rear of the units includes a molded label identifying them as FCC ID: G9H3-5979 and MADE IN MALAYSIA. Both units have attached black nylon carrying straps.
