T. Eakins & D. Cornwell Medical History Prints - A trio of color offset lithographic prints depicting historical medical scenes. The collection includes two reproductions of works by Thomas Eakins: The Gross Clinic (1875) and The Agnew Clinic. These prints were published for Ethicon Suture Laboratories, a Division of Johnson and Johnson, and include printed credits to Jefferson Medical College and the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. The third print is The Dawn of Abdominal Surgery by Dean Cornwell, N.A., published by John Wyeth and Brother, Inc., Philadelphia. This print is accompanied by its original paper folder and a descriptive tissue paper overlay featuring a numbered key that identifies the historical figures in the scene, including Dr. Ephraim McDowell and Jane Todd Crawford.
