GSD Nr. 5 Pasta Machine, W. Germany - A hand-cranked pasta or noodle cutting machine manufactured by GSD (Gross and Schmidt). This model, designated as Nr. 5, features a heavy cast metal body finished in blue and white enamel-style paint. The machine is designed for table mounting via an integrated C-clamp with a polished metal wing-nut screw. The internal mechanism consists of three separate roller sets: one with small perforations for fine noodles or vermicelli, one with horizontal ribbing, and one smooth set. The rollers appear to be constructed of brass or a brass-toned metal alloy. The unit is operated by a blue metal crank arm fitted with a red wooden handle. On the reverse side, a series of adjustable metal plates are secured by flat-head screws. Markings include GSD Nr. 5 embossed on the top edge and highlighted in red paint. The polished metal top plate is stamped Made in Western Germany. A small number 75 is incised into the cast body at the hinge point.
