American Turned Wood Spindle High Chair w/ Tray - 18x18x37 An antique American wooden high chair dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. The chair is constructed from a stained hardwood and features a shaped crest rail over a backrest composed of four central flat-faced spindles and two outer turned stiles. It is equipped with a solid wood tray with a raised gallery edge, mounted on steam-bent arms that pivot on pins at the rear of the frame, allowing the tray to be flipped over the back for storage or seating. The chair includes a contoured plank seat, curved armrests, and is supported by four turned legs connected by two tiers of stretchers for stability. An integrated wooden footrest is attached to the front legs. The construction utilizes period-correct spindle-and-socket joinery. No visible manufacturer marks, stamps, or labels are present.
