Robinson Ransbottom Blue Crown Stoneware Crock - 12.5 dia 14 in tall This large, cylindrical stoneware crock was produced by the Robinson Ransbottom Pottery Company of Roseville, Ohio. The vessel features straight sides and a thick, rounded rim. The exterior is finished in a light tan glaze with visible tide marks from the dipping process, while the interior is coated in a dark brown Albany-style slip glaze. A cobalt blue stenciled mark is centered on the front, consisting of a crown border with the numeral 5 inside a central circle and the characters U.S.A. at the base. The unglazed base of the crock features large, incised characters reading U S A arranged vertically. Capacity: 5 gallons.
