& Antique Dental Instruments & Supplies - A diverse collection of professional dental tools and medical supplies from the early-to-mid 20th century. The assortment includes several pairs of extraction forceps, dental mouth mirrors including one with a detachable head, various dental explorers, probes, carvers, and scalers. Other instruments present include surgical scissors, tweezers (cotton pliers), elevators, and components for dental handpieces. The collection features several original period supply boxes: a large box of Platino Matrix Strips by Specialty Manufacturing Company of New York; a yellow box of Asko Swabbing Broaches by A.S. Koch and Sons of Lancaster, PA; a small white box for a Reserve-Cylinder Fischer syringe; and an orange box of Caulk Temporary Stopping. Several instruments bear manufacturer marks including S.S. White (S S W), Cleveland Dental Manufacturing Company (CLEV-DENT), and Ivory. Other markings include Made in U.S.A., Made in Germany, and various numerical catalogue marks. The instruments are primarily constructed of stainless steel and nickel- or chrome-plated steel, often featuring knurled or textured handles for grip. One instrument is fitted with a black composite or vulcanite handle.
