Yonezawa Japan Blushing Willy Battery Toy w/ Box - This battery-operated character toy, titled Blushing Willy (Item No. 211), was manufactured by Yonezawa in Japan during the mid-20th century. The toy is constructed with a lithographed tin body and legs, while the head, hands, and shoes are made of molded vinyl or plastic. The figure is outfitted in a fabric plaid jacket over a printed tin shirt and striped pants. The hair is composed of a synthetic white fiber. Included accessories are a translucent blue plastic liquor bottle with a printed Scotch Whisky label and a matching translucent blue plastic martini glass. The toy is designed as an Electro Toy with multiple synchronized actions described on the packaging as pouring and drinking motions, a blushing face action where the cheeks redden, hair that stands up, and rolling eyes. The battery compartment is located on the underside of the base and accommodates two D-cell batteries (not included). An on/off toggle switch is situated on the rear of the tin figure. The trademark Y inside a cherry blossom logo for Yonezawa is present on both the rear of the tin body and the accompanying original pictorial cardboard box.
