Adlake Railroad Lantern & Gem Oil Can Trio - This lot comprises three antique industrial metal items. The first item is a short-globe railroad lantern manufactured by the Adams and Westlake Company, identified by the Adlake Reliable embossed mark on the top cap. The lid rim is stamped C. C. and ST. L., indicating property of the Cleveland, Cincinnati, Chicago and St. Louis Railway. The clear glass globe is embossed with the words Safety First and Adlake. The second item is a heavy-duty industrial storage can manufactured by the Gem Manufacturing Company of Pennsylvania, confirmed by a circular stamp on the underside of the base. The piece features a cylindrical body of heavy-gauge dark metal, a threaded hexagonal cap, a fixed pouring spout, and a wire bail handle. The third item is a tapered galvanized sheet metal measure. The side is embossed with One Quart Liquid and several regulatory stamps, including Approved City of NY and NYCPA, identifying it as an approved measure for the City of New York.
