Mid-20th C. Amber Faceted Glass Jar w/ Metal Lid - A mid-20th-century amber pressed glass storage jar of American origin. The jar is constructed with a decagonal, ten-sided paneled body featuring faceted sides that taper slightly toward the base. It has rounded shoulders and a short neck with a screw-top finish. The jar is fitted with a dark metal screw-on lid, which shows a heavy aged patina. The glass is a deep honey-amber tone and contains small internal bubbles, or seeds, typical of mid-century glass production. The base features an embossed circular mark with indistinct internal characters and the digit 2 located near the outer rim. This form is characteristic of jars used for the storage of coffee, tobacco, or various dry goods.
