1950s Structo Toys Articulated Bottom Dump Earth Mover No. 320 - This mid-century construction toy is an articulated bottom dump earth mover manufactured by Structo Toys of Freeport, Illinois. The vehicle is constructed of pressed steel and finished in orange paint. The model consists of a tractor unit connected to a large hopper trailer by a functional articulated hitch assembly. The tractor features a steering wheel and open-frame construction typical of early 1950s Structo designs. Identifying decals are present on both components. A rectangular decal on the side of the tractor frame reads Structo Toys, Freeport, Illinois, U.S.A. A triangular decal on the rear of the trailer identifies the piece as Structo Bottom Dump No. 320 and lists a simulated capacity of 15.5 cubic yards. The toy rides on four large, black, treaded rubber-like tires with silver-toned hub accents.
